Ladismith Country House is situated 7km outside the town Ladismith, alongside Swartberg mountains. Only four hours from Cape Town, this privately owned and managed Guest Farm offers the discerning traveller the perfect Klein Karoo experience. With 55 hectares of mountains and plains, Ladismith Country House is a nature lover's paradise offering a variety of birdlife, fynbos and succulents.

MANOR HOUSE

The Manor House consists of four individually and tastefully decorated suites that provide the warmth and relaxation that only the Klein Karoo can satisfy. Each suite has it's own entrance and offers a patio with direct access to the beautiful garden. The 4 en-suite rooms offers air cons(hot & cold), white cotton bed linen, safes, coffee & tea making facilities.

TO EAT

Ladismith Country House offers a heart-warming breakfast in the perfect Karoo setting. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in our dining room or on the patio overlooking the garden and Klein Karoo landscape with the welcoming sounds of guinea-fowl, hadeda, partridge and pheasants. Evenings are characterized by delightful candlelight 3-course dinners, using local and fresh produce out of our garden and Green House, which are creatively prepared and beautifully served. You will have a choice between various main course dishes. Delicious organic lamb from our own farm will always be on the menu. You will come back for more!

WHAT TO DO

During the day, enjoy a scenic walk on the farm before heading out to the famous George International airport only two hours away.

The famous Seweweekspoort, gateway to the Greater Karoo, is a 10 minute drive from Ladismith Country House.  This un-commercialized, untouched gateway is a must see for tourist doing the R62.  If you would like to be more adventurists and you got time on hand, take the turn-off to your right and do the Bosluyskloof road that take you to the Gamkapoort Dam.  Breathtaking views will await you!

On the farm there are hiking trails - short distance as well as longer distances for the fitter ones. If you got a mountain bike, please bring it with. Annually the famous Seweweekspoort Mountain Bike Race passes the Country House on there way back to Ladismith. The Seweweekspoort is 10miniutes drive from Ladismith Country House. Otherwise, just chill at the swimming pool in the shade of the trees or enjoy a cold drink on your private patio.

GUIDED TOURS

A guided 3- 6 hour or full day tour to discover the R62 & Klein Karoo... Ladismith, Calitzdorp, Van Wyksdorp and Rural environment, can be arranged by Management at an additional cost.

VISIT & SEE

Ladismith is situated in the most beautiful region of the Klein Karoo. The beautiful town Ladismith has a rich architectural heritage and several buildings have been declared as National Monuments. Ladismith, as with the rest of the Klein Karoo benefited from the ostrich feather boom period at the beginning of the previous century. Visit Ladismith Cheese Factory with a selection of fine and delectable cheeses. Ladismith Wine Cellar offers the wine lover a great wine selection. For the hiking enthusiast there is the famous Elandsberg mountain trail that takes you all the way to Stanley's Light or Towersig mountain trail, which takes one to Ladismith's famous landmark, Towerkop. Ladismith also have a nine-hole golf course.
